Dallas Cowboys: Week 4 Preview vs Los Angeles Rams

The Dallas Cowboys will host the Los Angeles Rams at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX on Sunday afternoon. The game is set to kick off at 1 p.m. ET.

The most surprising thing about this game is that the Cowboys are an 8.5 point favorite against the Rams. That is a very big line. While Dallas could win this game, 8.5 is too big a line.

Rams are For Real

This Rams team is not the same Rams team that’s been around for the last decade and a half. Quarterback Jared Goff has shown much improvement since his rookie season last year. He’s thrown for five touchdowns and just one interception in four games and the Rams lead the NFC West at 2-1.

The acquisition of wide receiver Sammy Watkins seems to have helped out. Watkins has 13 catches for 194 yards and two touchdowns. Todd Gurley has also done well, rushing for 241 yards and four touchdowns thus far.

Another key for the Rams success could be given to new head coach Sean McVay. He was formerly the Washington Redskins offensive coordinator. He was a key to quarterback Kirk Cousins doing so well during their time together. Cousins threw for 10,973 yards and 64 touchdowns under McVay from 2014-16.

Cowboys Coming to Play

Dallas is still a good team, as well. Dak Prescott has not shown much, if any, struggle this season. He’s thrown for 689 yards and five touchdowns. He’s so thrown two interceptions, both against the Denver Broncos. Neither of them were his fault, however. One was a tipped pass and one was a pass intended for Dez Bryant that he wasn’t looking at.

After running back Ezekiel Elliot rushed for eight yards on nine carries, many thought that he was deteriorating. On Monday night, he showed that was a fluke. He rushed for 104 yards in a win in Arizona.

Sunday’s game will be one of the top games of the week. Goff and Prescott will battle it out, as will Gurley and Elliot. The winner of this game will decided by defense. Whichever defense steps up will win this game.
