NCAA Football: Top Bowl Games to Watch

All 39 college football bowl games have been released. Of course, not all 39 will be watchable. Here are the bowl games that will be and should be watched by all. Of course, the two College Football Playoff game will be watched by all.

Rose Bowl: Oklahoma vs Georgia

Both Oklahoma and Georgia have talent on both sides of the ball. Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield is the undisputed Heisman winner for the 2017 season. He will have many eyes on him from fans to NFL scouts.

As for Georgia, they will have one of the best running backs in all of college football. Nick Chubb has done a stellar job in his tenure at Georgia. Oklahoma’s defense will have their hands full.

Sugar Bowl: Clemson vs Alabama

It’s a rematch of the last two National Championship games. The two teams have split the meetings, with Clemson winning it all last season. This game will be no different as both teams bring much talent to the table.

Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant has thrown for just 13 touchdowns, but he has also rushed for 11. Bama’s defense will need to stop him in order to pull off an upset.

Now that the two playoff games are out of the way, here are the other non-playoff games that should be on everyone’s watch list:

Alamo Bowl: Stanford vs TCU

Both teams have some star power that will be keys for them. Stanford will have running back Bryce Love who has taken over for Christian McCaffery and has done well.

For TCU, the player to watch will be quarterback Kenny Hill. The Oklahoma transfer started out hot, but has been cold over the last few weeks. This will be a big game for him as he will try to get over his slump.

Cotton Bowl: Ohio State vs USC

In what is expected to be one of the most exciting bowl games of the season, Ohio State and USC will meet in the Cotton Bowl.

There’s many matchups to watch in this one, but none are bigger than JT Barrett against Sam Darnold. Both quarterbacks have shined throughout the season. Expect both to put up big numbers through the air and expect a very close game.

TaxSlayer Bowl: Mississippi State vs Louisville

The name TaxSlayer Bowl doesn’t normally bring much excitement. Two names that will this year are Nick Fitzgerald and Lamar Jackson.

Fitzgerald has done a fine job taking over for Dak Prescott. While Jackson hasn’t been Heisman-worthy again this year, he has done well enough to get his Cardinals to a bowl game. With these two facing off, it should make for an exciting matchup.

Pinstripe Bowl: Boston College vs Iowa

Boston College hasn’t done much since Matt Ryan went to the NFL in 2008. Seeing them in a bowl game this season is a surprise to most. They’ve played very well, this season, including coming out of Louisville with a win.

Iowa has also done well. Nathan Stanley has been a very impressive quarterback all season long. They’ve also pulled off an impressive win over Ohio State and came just short of upsetting Penn State.

High-scoring or low-scoring, this will be a vey close game.

Liberty Bowl: Memphis vs Iowa State

Both teams have played impressive football for where they stand. Memphis has played more dominant football while Iowa State has played underdog and the upsetter, defeating two top four teams in Oklahoma and TCU.

Either one of two things will happen; Memphis will dominate the Cyclones or Iowa State will declaw the Tigers. The latter would make for a more exciting game.
