WWE: Extreme Rules 2017 Predictions

WWE Extreme Rules is live from the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, MD.

Pre-Show:
Kalisto vs Apollo Crews (w/ Titus O’Neil):
WWE randomly added this match hours before the show started. They seem to be going somewhere with this Titus Brand thing, so I’ll give the win to Apollo Crews tonight. I just don’t see any reason why Kalisto would win.
Winner: Apollo Crews.

Mixed Tag Team Match: Rich Swann and Sasha Banks vs. Noam Dar and Alicia Fox:
Wrestling is one cruel cruel business. Sasha Banks went from wrestling at Wrestlemania 33 to wrestling in meaningless tag team matches on the Pre-Show. All within two months of each other.

I do think this match has some potential to be very good. Alicia doesn’t get credit for being a decent worker, and I know Sasha is good enough to carry her.

Everyone expects Sasha and Rich to win, but I think Dar and Foxy win.
Winners: Noam Dar and Alicia Fox.

Cruiserweight Championship — Submission Match: Austin Aries vs. Neville (c):
In the past, I’ve picked Aries to be the one that dethrones Neville, but I’m not doing it today. I don’t think Austin Aries leaves Baltimore as Cruiserweight Champion. Neville should continue being the face of the Cruiserweight’s and Aries should go to the RAW mid-card. Maybe feud with The Miz?
Winner: Neville

RAW Women’s Championship — Kendo Stick on a Pole Match: Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss (c):
As a writer, it’s my duty to be objective, but this feud has been absolute GARBAGE. Both of these women have been given nothing to work with and I can’t fault them for trying to make it work, but this is still bad.

This Is Your Life: Bayley from the May 29th episode of RAW was one of the worst things WWE has ever produced. This feud needs to die. These two women need to be separated immediately.
Winner: Alexa Bliss

RAW Tag Team Championship — Steel Cage Match: Cesaro and Sheamus vs The Hardy Boyz (c):
I really feel like these matches with Sheamus and Cesaro have been filler. WWE is keeping The Hardyz and The Revival so far apart and its probably because they’ll be fighting at Summerslam.

Matt’s wife Reby is due in 2 days with their second child. WWE could take the belts off the Hardyz and give Matt some time off, but I don’t see any babyface tag teams for Cesaro and Sheamus to feud with.

For that reason, I don’t see the Hardyz losing their titles tonight to Sheamus and Cesaro. I do expect to see one of the Hardyz come off the top of the Steel Cage. Maybe a top rope leg drop from Matt.
Winners: The Hardy Boyz

Intercontinental Championship — (Title changes hands on DQ): The Miz (w/Maryse) vs Dean Ambrose (c):
I would predict a win for Ambrose here, but I think Miz wins. They’ve really pushed this thing about the title changing hands if Ambrose is DQ’d. I think Maryse somehow causes Ambrose to get DQ’d and Miz wins the title.
Winner: The Miz

Fatal 5-Way No. 1 Contender Extreme Rules Match — Finn Bálor vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Samoa Joe vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns:
Samoa Joe, Seth Rollins, and Bray Wyatt are not winning this match. I can say that with the utmost confidence. That leaves Finn Balor or Roman Reigns. Now, we all know that their plan is to have Brock and Roman fight at Wrestlemania, so I don’t think he wins tonight.

Finn Balor will leave Baltimore as the #1 Contender to Brock Lesnar‘s Universal Title at WWE’s new PPV Great Balls of Fire. We know Finn is a small guy and Brock is a big guy, so they really need to tell a good story when they do fight. Some won’t believe it when Finn wins tonight, but WWE has to make them believe it.
Winner: Finn Balor
