WWE: Summerslam 2017 Predictions

Cruiserweight ChampionshipAkira Tozawa (c) vs Neville:
Well…Neville is no longer the King of the Cruiserweights. Nobody expected Neville to lose to Akira Tozawa, I always thought he’d lose to Cedric.

I think it’s a cool moment, but I think Neville is winning the title right back. It’s almost as if Tozawa caught Neville slipping and he capitalized and won. Neville won’t make the same mistake again.
Winner: Neville

Smackdown Tag Team ChampionshipThe New Day (c) vs The Usos:
At one point in time, I was ready for this feud to be over, but they’ve pulled me right back in. When these guys get serious and get real on the microphone, it makes the feud so much better. I don’t really have a favorite to win the match. I like both teams.

I think The Usos lose tonight. I don’t see a reason why WWE would need to hot potato the titles.
Winners: The New Day

Big Show vs Big Cass:
WWE actually got some heat on Cass when he slammed the Big Show’s arm inside the shark cage door. I don’t think anyone cares about this match or this feud. Enzo and Cass were clearly better together than they are separate.

I think Cass gets the win tonight as he continues to get heat. Big Show just go away once this match is over because he’s not needed here.
Winner: Big Cass

Finn Balor vs Bray Wyatt:
I hate that they gave this match away on Monday Night RAW. Why should I care about a match that you showed 6 days ago?

Balor has threatened to bring out the demon character. I love how they’re making it seem like this demon is something completely different from Finn Balor. I just wish the movesets would change.

There is absolutely no way Finn Balor is losing to Bray Wyatt at Summerslam. I think they just gave Wyatt the win on RAW just to get the demon out of Finn Balor. Balor leaves Summerslam as champion.
Winner: Finn Balor

John Cena vs Baron Corbin:
Cena and Corbin both made it known that they wanted the WWE Championship. On the go-home Smackdown, Corbin cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase, but John Cena cost him the match.

Apparently Corbin has a lot of heat backstage, so that could explain why he lost that way. I just find him bland and boring and Corbin doesn’t seem like the type of heel to cash in on an injured opponent.

There’s no way John Cena is losing this match to Baron Corbin. Corbin will remain the doghouse and Cena will beat him.
Winner: John Cena

Randy Orton vs Rusev:
Does anyone seriously think Rusev is beating Randy Orton at Summerslam? Hell would freeze over before Randy Orton loses to Rusev. Orton wins it in a quick squash match.

I am curious to see where Orton goes after Summerslam. It always seems like Orton is lost and boring when he’s not in a title feud.
Winner: Randy Orton

RAW Tag Team Championship — Cesaro and Sheamus (c) vs Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose:
Apart of me would love to see 2/3 of the Shield reunite and win gold again, but I don’t think this is happening. I feel like this will be a heel turn for Dean Ambrose. It’ll lead to Ambrose and Rollins feuding while Cesaro and Sheamus wait for the WokenHardys.
Winners: Cesaro and Sheamus

United States ChampionshipAJ Styles (c) vs Kevin Owens:

I look at this match and I have this feeling that we’re going to have an incident where Shane accidentally costs AJ the match. I think this is more about planting the seeds for AJ/Shane II and less about Kevin Owens and AJ.
Winner: Kevin Owens

RAW Women’s Championship — Alexa Bliss (c) vs Sasha Banks:
Words can’t even express how happy I am about Bayley not being in this match. Now, I’m obviously not happy she got injured and I wish her a speedy recovery, but she was really dragging Alexa down.

I think this match has the potential to be very good. I think tonight is the night where Sasha wins the title again. Alexa Bliss has had a decent run, but I think it’s time for the Boss to get the title back. Especially in Brooklyn.
Winner: Sasha Banks

Smackdown Women’s Championship — Naomi (c) vs Natalya:
A lot of people have been extremely critical of Naomi’s run as Smackdown Women’s Champion. I’ve somewhat enjoyed it, but I think that glowing title belt is absolute garbage.

I don’t think Natalya wins tonight because this story is about Carmella and Noami. I expect Carmella to come out during the match and cash in and become the new Smackdown Women’s Champion.
Winner: Carmella

WWE Championship — Jinder Mahal (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura:
I wouldn’t mind Nakamura winning the title tonight, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. Cena, Corbin, Nakamura and Jinder are all around the title picture right now, so I’m expecting some version of a Fatal 4 Way in the coming months.

I think WWE will keep the title on Jinder because of his reaction he got in Toronto and then the reaction he got the following week on Smackdown when he beat Corbin. I’m expecting some type of distraction/interference win for Jinder.
Winner: Jinder Mahal

Universal Championship — Brock Lesnar (c) vs Samoa Joe vs Braun Strowman vs Roman Reigns:

I don’t think Roman needs the title right now. I still think it might be a little too early for Braun, so that leaves Samoa Joe. Word has been going around that Lesnar would be leaving WWE after Summerslam, and if that’s the case then I think they need to put the title on Joe.

I did like how they went home on RAW. I loved the pull apart brawl with the entire locker room emptying out. It allowed them to get their hands on each other without giving away a match on TV.
Winner: Samoa Joe
